Boring but Scoring Arsenal

   I am not sure how many days we are into this new year 2024. This leap-year stuff makes it hard for me to count the days after the 25th of February. It was the same day when you guys were hovering on my blog, with your right-hand middle finger incessantly pressing F5 and/or swiping down on your smartphones. Remember? yes, you do. You were waiting for my post about the match between Arsenal and Newcastle. But it never came out.

Two things

a) I have a full-time job

b) Save your time and subscribe instead you fools.

    Not fools actually, the majority of my readers are smart and techy. 99.98 % precisely. I always think if all of you visit the blog regularly then what is with the total number of reads being so low. <thinking smiley>. I assume some kind of incognito technology is involved here which I know nothing about. The benefit of the doubt lies with you and the actual benefit, with my free website provider.

    Moving on, on the couch, there is a strange feeling when I watch Arsenal play these days. I do not feel entertained. I feel extremely proud and happy and like dancing but not entertained. Apparently, this is the Same Old Arsenal, maybe the Boring Boring Arsenal but definitely not the one-nil to the Arsenal. Sending Sheffield United off the park last night was akin to Hammering the West Ham and Blowing Burnley away

    We have seen this brand of football, we have seen us being on the receiving end of this trap against the likes of City mostly, Liverpool too in recent times. However, now in 2024, it is Arsenal and not City who play more like City, it is Arsenal and not Liverpool who press more like Liverpool and it is Arsenal and also the Indian National Cricket team who embarrass the opponents every time they step on the pitch.

    My lawyer's advice is that I must make recommendations to the club in the interest of the fans. He says that the club cannot turn a deaf ear to the words coming from a reputed blogger of my stature. As we are in the process of getting my e-mail ID unblocked from the concerned team at the club, I will make use of this platform. My latest suggestion is a small one, keeping in mind the theme of our play style this year.

Dear Arsenal F.C,

Please arrange to change the Anthem from 'North London Forever' to

'We score and keep the ball forever'

Thankfulness isn't a feeling that arrives easily to me. Yet to Trossard and Odegaard, I thank for doing absolutely nothing in the above instance. Their dawdling gifted us the privilege of witnessing greatness. See, the feeling has gone already. If either had tried to kick the ball anywhere, even towards the referee's forehead, I can give this in writing that the ball would have still ended inside West ham goal for the sixth time. I already wrote it, can't sue me now. Such a game where everything we touched turned goal, well almost. We did not convert everything created because its Arsenal DNA to miss chances and leave the fans with their hands mid air, manager included. Running for a cause

Exclamation signs, even hundreds can't reveal the expressions at my face right now. Although goosebumps on my left arm at this point do appear like a hundred exclamations. Hate me all you want but before the game tonight an Arsenal win was not the first thing I hoped for, it was surely the second, I swear but with all my heart I hoped to watch uninterrupted telecast on my phone as I was and am still travelling through rail. The Arsenal Automatic gun like my internet connection was firing super smooth and fast in the first half barring a little glitch towards the end where I had to flicker the 'Aeroplane mode' tab.       The boss considers this good-looking man called Vincent Kompany his friend, but I don't. That doesn't make Mikel my enemy. Round three of the FA Cup this year too, had two Premier League clubs matched together. Two title contenders, battle of the juggernauts they were calling it.
