Gunverse: Arsenal vs FC Porto and welcome Bayern, Kane

Emerged from the group, rising above all,
No surprises here, we talk about Arsenal.
Drew against Porto for last 16 round,
First leg was scheduled on unfamiliar ground.
It was tough, laborious and hell lot tight,
We lost the game, we didn't earn the right.

Tipped to overturn the one goal deficit,
we welcomed Porto at where we thrive,
An early goal, a dream start we asked,
but once again Porto stood back in hive.

Lessons learned from encounter number one,
implemented the homework in leg number two.
However, there was an F.C other than Arsenal,
who had come prepared, read a few books too.

Glimpses of what happened in Portugal,
sufficed throughout the game.
Arsenal, kept at an arm's length from scoring,
once again struggled to make a name.

An Odegaard masterpiece, an assist so fine,
cutting porto defence, a pin point particular.
On the end of it, Trossard, with mindset of a 9,
scored the goal and showed his binocular.

A second goal felt around the corner,
the Gunners favourite for it, its not a lie.
While patience stretched beyond 120' mark,
A Draw loomed in the destiny of the tie.

I felt nerves when the CL Anthem played,
controlled them throughout the fixture.
Raya jumped left to save his second,
And only after that, tamed they were.

Since we are through fair and square,
now among the best European Eights.
As good hosts we shall score many,
Bayern and Kane, welcome to the Emirates.

Thankfulness isn't a feeling that arrives easily to me. Yet to Trossard and Odegaard, I thank for doing absolutely nothing in the above instance. Their dawdling gifted us the privilege of witnessing greatness. See, the feeling has gone already. If either had tried to kick the ball anywhere, even towards the referee's forehead, I can give this in writing that the ball would have still ended inside West ham goal for the sixth time. I already wrote it, can't sue me now. Such a game where everything we touched turned goal, well almost. We did not convert everything created because its Arsenal DNA to miss chances and leave the fans with their hands mid air, manager included. Missing chances and still scoring six goals is something to brag about. Exactly what I have been doing since Sunday.     I am not sure how many days we are into this new year 2024. This leap-year stuff makes it hard for me to count the days after the 25th of February. It was the same day when you guys were hovering on my blog, with your right-hand middle finger incessantly pressing F5 and/or swiping down on your smartphones. Remember? yes, you do. Running for a cause

Exclamation signs, even hundreds can't reveal the expressions at my face right now. Although goosebumps on my left arm at this point do appear like a hundred exclamations. Hate me all you want but before the game tonight an Arsenal win was not the first thing I hoped for, it was surely the second, I swear but with all my heart I hoped to watch uninterrupted telecast on my phone as I was and am still travelling through rail. The Arsenal Automatic gun like my internet connection was firing super smooth and fast in the first half barring a little glitch towards the end where I had to flicker the 'Aeroplane mode' tab.       The boss considers this good-looking man called Vincent Kompany his friend, but I don't. That doesn't make Mikel my enemy.
