Arsenal Poetry: Arsenal vs Bayern 09.04.2024 CL QF First Leg

Arsenal matched against Bayern to compete in CL final Eight, mixed reaction among the Gooners, few believe there exists fate. Each leg ended 5-1 to the German club last we met them 7 years ago. Well, this is a different Arsenal breed, come to the Emirates and we will show. Dear Munchen, you are not blind, I hope to see what Saka and Trossard can do. We host well at the Emirates and therefore gifted a goal or two. Your fans were not there, No one to shout your name. Raya came to your rescue so you now have nothing to blame. Go, go back to Munich with 2-2, a level playing field. We arrive next week to knock you out and click with Xhaka holding the Bundesliga shield. Do not waste your week on tactics as sole thing be prepared just learn to bow before the Arsenal only then you may be spared. Oh, you do not realize what comes your way ask Harry Kane, he may shed some light we are by far the greatest team we are the Arsenal and we know how to fight. COYG

Gunverse: Arsenal vs FC Porto and welcome Bayern, Kane

Emerged from the group, rising above all, No surprises here, we talk about Arsenal. Drew against Porto for last 16 round, First leg was scheduled on unfamiliar ground. It was tough, laborious and hell lot tight, We lost the game, we didn't earn the right. Tipped to overturn the one goal deficit, we welcomed Porto at where we thrive, An early goal, a dream start we asked, but once again Porto stood back in hive. Lessons learned from encounter number one, implemented the homework in leg number two. However, there was an F.C other than Arsenal, who had come prepared, read a few books too. Glimpses of what happened in Portugal, sufficed throughout the game. Arsenal, kept at an arm's length from scoring, once again struggled to make a name. An Odegaard masterpiece, an assist so fine, cutting porto defence, a pin point particular. On the end of it, Trossard, with mindset of a 9, scored the goal and showed his binocular. A second goal felt around the corner, the Gunners favourite for ...

Thanking You

Thankfulness isn't a feeling that arrives easily to me. Yet to Trossard and Odegaard, I thank for doing absolutely nothing in the above instance. Their dawdling gifted us the privilege of witnessing greatness. See, the feeling has gone already. If either had tried to kick the ball anywhere, even towards the referee's forehead, I can give this in writing that the ball would have still ended inside West ham goal for the sixth time. I already wrote it, can't sue me now. Such a game where everything we touched turned goal, well almost. We did not convert everything created because its Arsenal DNA to miss chances and leave the fans with their hands mid air, manager included. Missing chances and still scoring six goals is something to brag about. Exactly what I have been doing since Sunday. As a person, I care about our players and understand that playing each minute after 90 carries risk of injuries. At the same time, I didn't want to hear that full time whistle ...

Boring but Scoring Arsenal

I am not sure how many days we are into this new year 2024. This leap-year stuff makes it hard for me to count the days after the 25th of February. It was the same day when you guys were hovering on my blog, with your right-hand middle finger incessantly pressing F5 and/or swiping down on your smartphones. Remember? yes, you do. You were waiting for my post about the match between Arsenal and Newcastle. But it never came out. Two things a) I have a full-time job b) Save your time and subscribe instead you fools.      Not fools actually, the majority of my readers are smart and techy. 99.98 % precisely. I always think if all of you visit the blog regularly then what is with the total number of reads being so low. <thinking smiley>. I assume some kind of incognito technology is involved here which I know nothing about. The benefit of the doubt lies with you and the actual benefit, with my free website provider.     Moving on, on the couch, ther...

Hammering at the Emirates

West ham travelled in the North direction, Arsenal had their task cut out, And with their patience and conviction The result was merely a doubt. With all the possession in the world Over and above having Odegaard It was a night that belonged To hammers' tall and back standing guard There were chances, there was hope Post was hit and headers were missed Arsenal attack was potent it looked Still not close to test Areola's fist.,  Sitting deep, they played only to defend West ham hoped Arsenal bombardment to end It never stopped nor hammers' booing Rice Against the run of play, Arsenal conceded twice This was one of those games when its not your day or night Not winning against a group of cowards Doesn't dent one bit of our might

Santa Arteta to break the Anfield curse ?

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has summoned the Kop to rise to the occasion i.e. visit of the league leaders Arsenal league leaders Arsenal league leaders Arsenal on Saturday. Not a typo. Demanding an atmosphere at Anfield is novel. If anything, that place needs to be taught to respect people watching the game at home, that those people may want to listen to some commentary or half and full-time whistles. Regardless of the fact that Anfield is a certified noise factory, Klopp's urging for more support echoed foreboding. We, in the last 10 outings at Anfield have managed the best possible outcomes in the form of draw 03 times. Yeah, but the results against City were even more damaging to the brain, even fatal for young Gooners. However, against all odds, the breaker of the curses,  hater of the luxury players and waver of Martinelli strode past his ex-boss to break the shackles of the Man City fixture. Arteta has a knack for special victories and accounting for Klopp's fear bef...

Running for a cause

Exclamation signs, even hundreds can't reveal the expressions at my face right now. Although goosebumps on my left arm at this point do appear like a hundred exclamations. Hate me all you want but before the game tonight an Arsenal win was not the first thing I hoped for, it was surely the second, I swear but with all my heart I hoped to watch uninterrupted telecast on my phone as I was and am still travelling through rail. The Arsenal Automatic gun like my internet connection was firing super smooth and fast in the first half barring a little glitch towards the end where I had to flicker the 'Aeroplane mode' tab. It was not required particularly but everything was so silky, so good to be true for a gunner and for a gooner too. So the powers combined to pull us back to reality. I know big Gabi, I understand you boy. The interval failed to bring peace to the mind and took it to buzz around the memories of recent FA cup clash against Liverpool. Energetic start, hi...

5 star friend

The boss considers this good-looking man called Vincent Kompany his friend, but I don't. That doesn't make Mikel my enemy. Vincent Kompany's only achievement tonight was to feature in the first line of my post. Speaking of enemies, regular readers of the blog know that I am not a fan of Kai Havertz 29. He may get that no.10 jersey in the future but I have made up my mind. So much so that every time he touches the ball, I pray. I am a non-believer. The boss likes him too and still no crack between Mikel and me.       Recurring rituals before the match were in place. Jersey on the chest, 0 to 42.8 v/v alcoholic beverages on the table, eyes on the 32''. Don't judge, I will buy a bigger TV if we win this year.       Going by the Manager's press conference on Friday, a tough game was expected where we would try and try to open the Burnley defence and perform some theatrical diving near the edge of the box and then abuse the referee for not b...

The Arsenal-fan reset

Round three of the FA Cup this year too, had two Premier League clubs matched together. Two title contenders, battle of the juggernauts they were calling it. Well, whoever they are, they also assumed Sp*rs as challengers this year and Manche A ter united last year. So, basically, they are cricket fans. This game, where we hosted Liverpool for the FA Cup tie was hyped to the right note by the media and Mikel also by doing a Klopp and urging the atmosphere at the Emirates to be hostile. The fans adhered to the boss's command. They bombarded the stadium with their voice right from the kickoff or even an hour before that precisely when the Liverpool lineup was announced, exactly when Arsenal felt they could run a tank over this Liverpool side w/o Van Dijk and Mo Salah. It's the FA Cup after all. It's our competition. We have won it more than any bloody else has. This is the season of silverware. Come on No Mo and no VVD, too easy now this one. Afore lines echoed in my head, The...
