Thankfulness isn't a feeling that arrives easily to me. Yet to Trossard and Odegaard, I thank for doing absolutely nothing in the above instance. Their dawdling gifted us the privilege of witnessing greatness. See, the feeling has gone already. If either had tried to kick the ball anywhere, even towards the referee's forehead, I can give this in writing that the ball would have still ended inside West ham goal for the sixth time. I already wrote it, can't sue me now. Such a game where everything we touched turned goal, well almost. We did not convert everything created because its Arsenal DNA to miss chances and leave the fans with their hands mid air, manager included. Missing chances and still scoring six goals is something to brag about. Exactly what I have been doing since Sunday.
As a person, I care about our players and understand that playing each minute after 90 carries risk of injuries. At the same time, I didn't want to hear that full time whistle ever. As a person, I am not violent either but the game compared to Wrestling entertaintment fights (can't mention WWE, copyrights bullsh*t) where one of the wrestlers is apparently dead by battering but is still being hit relentlessly and when the referee comes to rescue, he is also kicked away. The victim of the fake punches is carried away on stretchers for extra drama with blood all over. Not violent, just entertainment. Revived some memories, right. WHU v ARS was nothing short of that except the punches were not fake and the KO punch was executed by Rice Rice baby, one of them half season ago.
I read a wonderful poem after the reverse fixture in December, re-read before final edit and then published it. Lol. Complementing it with another one seems too clichéd and boring to me.
So here it goes :
Fell in the cup match, hammered at the emirates,
WHU were taught to repeat the cowardly game.
While they learn, lions entered their gates,
We hunted and WH fans exited with shame.
A cub bred among the hammer,
Wore red and white, within Arsenal line,
He started with sublime pinpoint assists
And ended with a bomb breaking the WH spine.

Little late to comment on it . But after the Liverpool defeat to arsenal in the next meeting of these top 2 teams .. I find commenting here must more respectable. Liverpool fan here BTW.
ReplyDeleteAlso, arsenal looking more in control of this fixture but still ended in a draw . Also, a little bit of courageous fan prediction - Liverpool will win EPL this season.
Keep your courage. You are going to need it at the end of the season 😊
