It was a late kick-off at Kenilworth Road for the Gunners, so late where I live that by the time the game ended, it was nearly morning. Posting this right after the match, I won't be exaggerating if I say that the above image keeps flashing in front of my eyes, it's a bit distracting though while trying to write.
The game started with a rush of energy from the men in red which was Luton of course because we were wearing that tennis ball-inspired jersey once again which appears more like uniforms of stadium security personnel and airport runway staff. Even with these neon all around Ben White looked sleepy for most part of the first half until he made a well-placed assist to Jesus. In hindsight, it was a good ball from Mr. 200, Saka to White which made space for the assist. I hope Saka gets some bonus for that. Anyways, converting that assist, Jesus scored Arsenal's second with a header, blinding the Luton keeper with his VFX eyebrows.
Luton equalized twice, scoring each time from a corner. Without being too harsh on Raya, I just thought he acted like a troll and it was a really stupid judgement of his to give away the second goal from a corner. How tiny a keeper he really is that a player in the air scores against him with Raya also in the air having the additional advantage of his stretched hands too. His effort to save the third Luton goal was no less than the effort Maguire puts into keeping the ball out of the net and we all know what that often results in.
The equalizer from Arsenal came after a great display of holding play, skill and assist from Jesus to Kai. Now, having conceded two from the set pieces, it was time to put the freshly promoted side in their place and show who the set piece kings in the PL are. I advised Arteta (he called at half-time break) to make changes as per the lineup I predicted in my previous post. He did that after 20 minutes in the second half, of course, he did.
